Ready. Set. Explore.

Mission: SPACE, delivered by Scitech and powered by the Australian Space Agency, will shape the imaginations and capabilities of the next generation.

This new national program will inspire and prepare young Australians for exciting, futuristic space and STEM careers.

Scitech, a Western Australia-based education institution is renowned for making science accessible for all ages by offering innovative, hands-on exhibits, dynamic programs, and engaging events.

Mission: SPACE program will offer two key learning opportunities:

  • Virtual excursions for students in Years 3 to Years 6.
  • Mars Challenge Kits to 100 Australian primary schools.

While the virtual excursions will put the spotlight on topics like how gravity works, in the Mars Challenge, students will team up to tackle real-life space problems by designing, building, and testing their own Mars Rover prototype.

The kit will provide the lesson plan and all materials as well as professional learning sessions to help teachers integrate technology into classrooms.

Scitech believes that Mission: SPACE will encourage students to explore the possibilities of space industry careers, while also helping them develop essential skills.

“Rapid advancements in the space industry, both globally and here in Australia, mean there are so many opportunities for space-related careers across all industries.

Mission: SPACE will help prepare young people for dynamic careers here on Earth and beyond, by developing skills in problem-solving, collaboration, technology, and critical thinking."

~ Inette Henn, Manager of Learning Futures, Scitech

With support from the Australian Space Agency, Mission: SPACE is the first-time schools outside of Western Australia will have access to a Scitech program.

“We are excited to be delivering our first national program, so we can spread our love of science, technology, engineering and maths to more young Australians,” said Ms Henn.
