Australia’s newest STEM ambassador – astronaut Katherine Bennell-Pegg – is hitting the road this National Science Week to share her out-of-this-world career journey.

Katherine will visit four states and territories from 10 -18 August 2024 to inspire the next generation STEM workforce with her story of hard work and determination.

National Science Week is the country’s annual celebration of science and technology and Katherine, who is the first qualified astronaut under the Australian flag, will headline a wide range of events and discussions.

If you’re not near any of these locations, keep an eye out on our website for more events involving Katherine in other parts of the country over the coming months.

“Representing Australia is filled with opportunities to propel our nation's science and technology forward in the global space arena and to raise the level of aspiration for the next generation.

I hope my training and whatever comes next helps unlock the path for more Australians to become involved in human spaceflight,”
