In the 2019-20 Federal Budget, the Australian Government announced the $19.5 million Space Infrastructure Fund (SIF). This is an infrastructure investment over three years from 2019-20 to remove barriers in the growth of the Australian space sector.

The SIF targets seven infrastructure projects for common-user platforms that industry cannot provide alone.

The Australian Space Agency is currently running consultations to inform the program design of two of these projects:

  • Mission Control Centre in South Australia
  • Robotics, Automation and AI Command and Control Centre in Western Australia

We are seeking public views on the proposed objectives and delivery framework for these projects, and welcome comments and feedback during the consultation phase. Consultations are open until 24 September.

The Mission Control Centre consultation will have a face-to-face information session in Adelaide on 20 September. Read the consultation paper, register for the event or have your say on our Consultation hub.

The Robotics, Automation and AI Command and Control consultation will have a face-to-face information session in Perth on 23 September. Read the consultation paper, register for the event or have your say on our Consultation hub.
